Planner here. Sometimes I know who I think would absolutely crush the wedding, but I don’t recommend them. Sometimes it’s a budget thing. Personality is wrong for the clients. Maybe I know the client needs way more hand holding than that vendor will give. Or I need more immediacy and the vendor is too chill for the event. So when a planner doesn’t refer you, it doesn’t always mean they don’t like you or your work. There’s a lot more matchmaking happening than vendors realize.
