I really think one opportunity can change your whole career in this industry. I’ve watched this happen a lot! A planner brings you in, a couple takes a chance, someone refers you...then suddenly you have the wedding, the team, the venue, the fashion that lets people SEE you differently. Then it just snowballs from there. Obviously you still have to deliver lol but getting that first real opportunity is huge.
Do you actually “make it” or does someone let you in?
The same people get the best budgets, venues, teams + hot people in $$$ designer looks over and over again. Yet, other creatives are making way more ordinary weddings look elevated and creating art. But if planners rarely move outside their circles, how does someone new actually get IN? Sometimes this industry feels like one lucky break. One wedding. One planner taking a chance on you and you crush it. How much of “making it” is talent vs finally getting the right opportunity?
